Amazing...

Teen accidentally shot in leg at gun show Sunday morning

A teen was accidentally shot in the leg when a handgun discharged at the Metcalf Gun Show at the state fairgrounds Sunday morning. The victim, whose name was not released, is the teen son of a gun show vendor.

He was shot once in the leg about 11:45 a.m., Oklahoma City police Sgt. Charles Phillips said.
The teen's father produced a personally-owned weapon for sale, but a bullet was still in the chamber when it was handed to a potential buyer, Phillips said.

He said two off-duty Oklahoma City police officers were at the doors making sure guns are unloaded and properly marked, but they do not check guns held or being sold by vendors.  Guns that are on sale should be "strapped and tagged," or set not to fire for safety purposes during the show, but there is no law requiring it, Phillips said.

Police are considering the shooting to be accidental, and no arrests are expected.

I am kind of in love with this story. I personally believe it is a right to own a gun and if treated with respect and handled correctly, guns are safe.  I believe if you own a gun and have children it should be locked up. I don't think you should keep the gun a secret from your children, but teach them gun safety and that guns are not toys.  I absolutely love that the person who was shot was the gun vendors son because HE FORGOT to unload the gun.  Seriously?
